Today I met Swan, he was majestic and also lost.

Immediately mesmerised by this grand lone swan whose face I recognised.

There he was standing on the damp grass next to the large park gates quietly grieving.

He stood rather too close to the adjacent roundabout and we both eyed each other up suspiciously, for a long time.

We stood in the drizzle for another 10 minutes, resistant to leave.

Days, months and years afterwards I missed him and knew he missed me too

In our British country house, many white and black swans would glide across our water lily laden ponds offering us advise whenever needed.
