t h e   s p r i n g

The whole family would visit this house occasionally in spring. The windows would be open all day and all night to let in the scent of jasmine flow through.

Inside the minimally furnished rooms helped the feeling of being uncomplicated and free. Janice (Jopling) our favorite spring houseguest would stay for sleep overs regularly and cook us all eggs over easy for brunch. Hanging on the walls were red perspex triangles of various sizes which moved ever so slightly as the wind drifted in and out of the rooms.

At dawn we would all run barefoot to the sea.
